Gabrielle Cohen is a writer living in New York City.
Her work has been published by The Sun Magazine, The Audacity, and others. She was a 2022 Periplus Fellow—a mentorship program awarded to emerging BIPOC writers. She is currently an Axinn Fellow in NYU’s MFA Program for Creative Nonfiction and her writing has received additional support from the Hedgebrook Residency, Ragdale, Writing by Writers, Carolyn Moore Writers’ Residency, Djerassi Resident Artists Program (through the women of color-led Novalia Collective), the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN), and diaCritics, a journal for Southeast Asian literature. She has also been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for New Writers.
She has a background in nonprofit communications and international development, with experience working for global humanitarian relief organizations and reporting from countries throughout Southeast and Southwest Asia, Central and South America, East Africa, and Eastern Europe. She was also a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Vietnam from 2019-2021.
